Glenn’s main focus is making sure that you feel heard. Listening to you, the client, forms the backbone of all effective counselling.  By listening intently, Glenn is able to assist you to move towards a solution that best suits you and your own personal situation.  All too often, a counsellor is perceived as “the expert” who administers advice to the client.  Glenn’s approach, however, is to co-design solutions together with his clients.  This is extremely important, as it enables you, the client, to achieve what you want, not necessarily what Glenn or others perceives to be important.

You can feel assured you will never be judged, as conversations with Glenn are always respectful and relaxed. Often Glenn's sessions are centred around "solutions" type counselling. After all Glenn feels this is what counselling should be all about. Glenn uses a range of behavioural and cognitive strategies to improve motivation, clarity, personal responsibility, sense of purpose and direction, as well as the development of problem solving skills. A trend from the most recent research strongly suggests that effective therapy has more to do with the effectiveness of the relationship between client and therapist more so than expertise, training and experience.
